A driver's license (or driving license) is required in Malaysia before a person is allowed to drive a motor vehicle of any description on a road in Malaysia under Road Transportation Act 1987, section 26(1). Section 26(1) of Road Transportation Act, an individual must possess a valid driving license before being permitted to drive on the road, or can be prosecuted under section 26(2) with penalties or jail or both of them. Driving license holders are subject to all traffic rules stated in the Malaysian Road Transportation Act 1987.
A Malaysian who reaches the age of 16 will able to get the Motorcycle license (B2). A Malaysian who reaches the age of 17 can get the car license (D). If anyone who wish to get the lorry license the requirement of it is must reach the age of 21 or above.
For a Malaysian who wants to get any three of these license need to pass through the Highway Code Test. This test is conduct with two type of language which are English or Bahasa Malaysia.
For the people who success to pass the Highway Code Test, they need to attend for a Theory course which take the time of 6 hours.ways to overcome :
- JPJ have to make invasion to driving licence school and give warning to them
- JPJ have to impose a large amount of penalty who still give a expencise prices to the students
- JPJ also have to competent not to accept bribes
The advantages of having driving licence :
- you can be free completely from the dependence on your parents so you can go everywhere and enjoy your private life
- also can use your driver licence as an important document to prove your identification easily so you do not need to worry about proving yourself anymore when submit something
the disadvantage :
- be aware of accident rate because driving requires a lot of attention and care
- to prevent from the accident, you may not use your cell phone while driving
- be aware of the cost maintaining such as purchasing a gas, changing oil regularly, renewing licence and having car insurance
