SIJIL TINGGI AGAMA MALAYSIA (STAM)

   Sijil Tinggi Agama Malysia is  an exam which was first introduced in 2000 through a collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. Oral examination is scheduled to commence in July 2000 and a written examination in November / December 2000.

   STAM introduced to ensure that graduates of the Sekolah Menengah Agama Negeri (SMAN) and Sekolah Menengah Agama Rakyat (SMAR) through a standardized education system and recognized in and outside the country. STAMintoduce to ensure that students admitted to the University of Al-Azhar and its university equivalent in and outside the country, consists of those who are really good quality and can have a degree in the shortest period of time

STAM examination start :

•  In 1997 agreement has been reached between the authorities in Egypt and Malaysia in order to streamline the system and the conditions of admission of students to the University of Al-Azhar.
• Following the Ministry of Education had discussed with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Cairo, Egypt on 10 to 12 November 1998 and approval has been obtained on the implementation of the examination and certification system.

13 subjects will be tested in the test is as follows:

1	Hifz Al-Quran dan Tajwid
2	Fiqh
3	Tauhid
4	Tafsir dan Ulumuhu
5	Hadith dan Mustolah
6	Mantiq
7	Nahu
8	Sarf
9	Insya’
10	Adab dan Nusus
11	Mutala’ah
12	Arud dan Qafiyah
13	Balaghah

Benifits of STAM :

• explored the relationship knowledge related hukum faraid (property)
• understand the interpretation of the Quran and learn about ulum Quran
• learning about nohu sorof (grammar)

Ways to overcome :

• education about religious have to learn from kindergaten for example tell about sin and reward of something such as if you steal , your hand will cut and this will make them more focus to do for the better

• teacher have to more patient in deliever knowledge, lets the student to ask the question , and also teacher have to answer the question with understandable

• parents also have to taking part in learning their children to be succesful people
