UPSR

UPSR was introduced in 1987 to replace the Standard Five Assessment Examination. In 1995, the format changed with the introduction of Mathematics subjective questions. In 2001, candidate assessment, including school work. The objective is to evaluate the performance of primary school students in their basic skills in science and mathematics and also the subjects of English and Bahasa Malaysia. UPSR conducted by the Integrated Curriculum for Primary Schools (KBSR).  The reason I choose UPSR for my research because the news about the leaked question have been the top news even not only UPSR examination but the other exam still be the same problem. This situation have to be concerned and taking action because the victim are the students and parents.

The  main subject is
  • BAHASA MELAYU (pemahaman)
  • BAHASA MELAYU (penulisan)
  • ENGLISH
  • SCIENCE
  • MATHEMATICS

The ways of overcoming are :
  • the exam is not just count the number of grades that have been collected but it is about process maturity student
  • the focus and effort including parents, teacher and society to handle this problem also to help and gain their confident back
Advantage of UPSR

  • students can get a new knowledge
  • can make a new friends and help each other
  • can get education that who can't afford tuition
  • learn to gain confident when communicate to others
  •  able to test student's understandings and achievements for each core subject

Disadvantage of UPSR :
  • teacher have to aware of the subject syllabus
  • have to gain knew method
  • d of teaching to student get a good result
  • teachers to stress on teaching just to get an 'A' and it is too exam-orientated.
