The purpose i choose STPM for my research because wants to know more about education and the positive and negative about taking STPM .The Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) is a pre-university examination taken by students in Malaysia. It was formerly known as the Higher School Certificate (HSC). In 2013 the new modular system has replaced the existing terminal system because the current STPM system, known as the terminal system which is similar to PMR and SPM. Fu rthermore, the new modular system is which is similar to Malaysian Marticulation (Matr ikulasi) with continuously over three semesters.
The objective :

- gain in depth learning
- knows how to handle experiment/project
- knows how to good communication
- produce students who skilled knowledgeable and competitive
The way of overcoming are :
- the government must coordinate all pre-university exam in Malaysia because IPTA as institutions that generate science does not have to offer matriculation courses or basic as this is the responsibility of schools and outside college
- increase the number of places for medical courses in all universities and can be done by giving greater allocation to each of the universities to increase the number of places.
- the government should consolidate the STPM and matriculation courses around the fundamental so that the assessment can be carried out on students
Advantage of STPM :
- The only other way to get into a Local-University
- Doing STPM is definitely one of the most financial-friendly Pre-U that you can find in Malaysia
- You can stay close to home and also enjoying your mom's cooking
- You will be close with your friends and teacher
Disadvantage of STPM :
- You're in a school environment and have to wakes up early because schools start 7.30 a.m
- You need to be hardworking eventhough you have to take 4 subject only but the books are really thick and dont't get a tips before exam. So you have to memorize all the topics.
- It is HARD .One of the hardest exams in the world.
